education, including publishing mathematics textbooks. Strang was the
MathWorks
Professor of Mathematics at the
Massachusetts Institute of Technology

, Learning from Data, and his lectures are freely available through
MIT OpenCourseWare
.
Strang popularized the designation of the
Fundamental Theorem of Linear Algebra
as such.
