Quito, Borbones e higiene
En la segunda mitad del sigo XVIII comenzaron a sentirse en Quito los efectos del pensamiento ilustrado, que fomentaran las reformas borbónicas. Allí están las raíces del higienismo que propugnara, vehemente y grave, Eugenio Espejo.
