It is a module about social studies which contains four chapters. The first one refers to the background of the Abdon Calderon School in which we consider its geographical location, mission, and vision. The second chapter provides a brief summary about the cooperative approach in which we based our work. We consider its elements, benefits, and the reason why students need to cooperate while they are learning social studies. The third chapter contains the module itself. This module includes four units. Unit I refer to the orientation, the way to orientate and the instruments to do it. Unit II refers to the parish and all that surrounds it. Unit III is about Cuenca, its location, traditions, customs, history, economic resources, and authorities. Unit IV mentions the Azuay Province, including its history, location, authorities, tourist attractions, and ways of life. All these units include motivating activities that respond to the students´ needs and interests. The activities we most focus on are the cooperative and researching ones | |
