description This paper focuses on the concept of motor disability, based on a socio-educational model which centers on the needs of the person and not only on their physical deficiency. The paper examines the needs of pupils with motor disabilities at a personal, social, familial and educational level, and in particular, emphasizes how their disability affects their self-esteem and social and family relationships. In conjunction with this, it outlines the issue of educational inclusion experienced by students with physical disabilities. And finally, the paper presents a semi-structured interview model designed to evaluate cases and carry out needs assessment.

Este trabajo se centra en el concepto de discapacidad motora, presentado desde un modelo socio-educativo que pone el énfasis en las necesidades de la persona y no solo en su deficiencia. Se presentan las necesidades de los alumnos con discapacidad motora a nivel personal, socio-familiar y educativo. De manera particular se incide en su autoconcepto y relaciones sociales y familiares. Junto a esto, se aborda el tema de la inclusión educativa del alumno con discapacidad motora.
