Summary:This study is not devoted to methods of teaching, or to methods of learning. It is devoted to the nature of the conflicts between an adjective in a language that has already been learned and one that is still to be learned. It clarifies common misconceptions students find in the use of adjectives. This Contrastive analysis presents the diversity of words that can function as adjectives in an English or Spanish sentence, the similar and different restrictions in both languages, adjectives that can appear post-nominally and pre-nominally both in English and Spanish, and the main types of English and Spanish adjectives. Also, the Practical Guide that helps students to learn to use adjectives correctly in English. It provides students with opportunities to use adjectives in different contexts
