description | This proposal encourages the teachers to use MI based activities in the classroom and sets forth a variety of them that are suitable for all the Intelligences to reinforce the vocabulary of the topics of the book Catch 6 used in the seventh grade, Class “A” and Class “B” of the Julio Maria Matovelle Elementary School of Paute. The students in both classes were not motivated to learn English, they usually complained about the activities they were asked to fulfill, and the majority of them forgot the learned vocabulary in a short period of time, which caused the students to get low grades in the subject. To face this problems, and considering that no one learns in the same form since everybody has their own way of understanding the world and solving their problems, a variety of Multiple Intelligences-based activities were planned to reinforce the learned vocabulary. This work aimed to engage the students in learning English through activities that were interesting for all of them and to observe if there was an improvement in the students’ grades after they had received reinforcement with the planned activities. The proposed activities were applied in a certain period of time and data was collected from two main sources: interviews with the English teacher and the mandatory tests from the book. Finally, after the application of the proposed activities, there was noted an increment in the students’ grades. In addition, a positive change in their attitudes toward the target language was seen. |
