Summary: | Organisations are re-adopting outsourcing strategies to try to achieve competitiveness, changing the business concept and focusing on the company's core competencies and capabilities, outsourcing those activities or functions that are better managed by specialised companies. The outsourcing of information technology (IT) is a strategy that is increasingly being adopted especially in the IT areas of companies, where the maintenance, development and operation of IT is outsourced. In companies belonging to the hotel industry, companies specialised in IT-related activities are being used. This paper analyses the determinants of the IT outsourcing strategy in the hotel industry, establishing the existing relationships with different variables such as size, category, type of business, level of integration, occupancy level and technological endowment.
