Summary: | Nowadays, web-based information systems are an essential element in any organization, either public or private. In the last decade, Public Administrations have adopted the Web as platform to spread the information they provide to citizens, as well as a mechanism of interaction with them. This Degree Final Project is aimed at deepening the Web content management from the profile of an user in charge of administrative and management tasks in an organization, using for that Content Management Systems, which allow the creation of websites in a easy way, and providing tools that help to design and structure information, as well as the controlled access to them. Such Content Management Systems are responsible for managing the contents on the web site, without the need of programming experts but users whose tasks are administrative, with the task of publishing information on the web and classifying it at the same time. As users, we expect a website to provide us with the necessary information and a really easy management of it, without needing to focus on anything else. For that purpose, the so-called Content Management Systems provide the creation of websites with a design and content, as well as a controlled access. In this Degree Final Project, we will study five Content Management Systems such as Joomla!, Drupal, Wordpress, Oracle Universal Content Management (UCM) and Umbraco. As practical exercise for this project, we have created a website for a Public Administration, using the Joomla! Content Management System. Among the objectives of this website is the creation of different levels of users with different levels of access.
